masterchef:

Decided to conquer the Macaron despite being constantly told that they were hard to make and fatty for you. But I found a recipe that would make everything eeeeasy. From here: My Food Geek's Almost Fool Proof Macarons
I guess it was slightly cheating because they used a italian meringue instead of a french one? But to be honest, I dont know the difference, and neither does my mother and brother, and we're the ones eating them, so I dont think it matters too much.
But, luckily they were a success! Well, I'm assuming a success.

The recipe doesnt say how to make the macaron pink, so I just added a drop of red food dye in while combining the egg white and the almond/sugar mix, and that worked out to be fine. Also, I got the Bittersweet Chocolate Cream Ganache recipe from here. I fluffed the Ganache up a bit, because I just went "LALALALA!" and combined everything together at once instead of the butter last, but I sort of saved it by adding a little extra butter at the end.

Also had some left over egg yolk left, so I attempted a Nigella Egg Yolk Sponge Cake, which so far looks like a fail, and Im willing to blame it all on myself, and being unable to line a cake tin.
